When people hear that video games can be educational two things come mind, "No way!" and "really?"it a duel-edged sword make kids play whatever they want it the battle of educational vs violence everyday, Some people don't believe the parents are not looking and checking what kids are playing it is impossible and others would want to know more why they are doing this. Let me tell you how from a teenaged gamer's point of view.
Let's start with the group that wants to know more. When they hear educational video games they think of Jump Start, V.Flash and Big Brain Academy, which teach young children to read and spell. These games help in school and hopefully will help students later in life to get professional jobs and better pay also video games can enhance students’ motivation to learn, but it may
depend on how students play, researchers at New York University and the
City University of New York have found in a study of middle-school. From the teacher's point of view these games also cause less talking to other kids.
Now let's switch over to addressing video game detractors which say, "There is no way there are video games that are educational for kids to play. They all promote violence." This not completely true. Just like pot-heads smoking marijuana, or athletes working out, video games release anger or stress for some young gamers.
There are no consequences or victims because the people in the games are not real. For instance Call of Duty is the main game that people associate with violence. When played in zombie mode and story mode playing I can understand why they think so.That's why everyone thinks all games promote violence. Uncharted, Batman, The Last of Us and Assassin's Creed are enjoyable games to play, part of the game involves fighting and shooting people, but it mostly about the adventure and plot in the games that everyone forgot.
Video games are a duel-edged sword younger and older children and teens can easily copy what they see in a video games but also they can learn to go on adventures out in the world. They can have great consequences both positive and negative, cause and effect on both side, causing a child play all educational games they may be smart but there is a small chance they will be introverted and lack social skills. Whereas a child who plays all violent games will talk to other children but might copy what they saw in the video games and act out.
Ethical if you ask anyone if they think video games are educational there is a 50/50 chance that they will agree, but i still stand in the middle. Most games are getting too violent for young children and teens but they choose to play the game. and .Like i said before a duel-edged sword for the parents and children you play educational or violence it a chance people are will to take, i say as long as their balance in their life there noting to worry about.
